We luckily stumbled upon Summit Construction on Google when researching renovation specialists in Christchurch and can attest Mike and his staff are truly fantastic! We had a strict deadline of 8 weeks and nothing was a problem for Mike. Any issues were met with solutions and we appreciated the time and effort assisting us in the initial stages of planning the renovation. Mike is professional, and does exactly what he says he will do. His team and contractors were always friendly when we would come back for a look at the progress. Communication was excellent through-out the entire project, we wouldn’t use anyone else for any future work!
Thank you Mike and team, was easily the best experience we could have hoped for!

We have absolutely no regrets about choosing Mike and the Summit Construction team to handle our recently completed renovation. Mike impressed us from the get-go with his honesty and excellent communication skills. Once the build commenced, he was a frequent presence on site, not only project managing but on the tools as well, and his construction team were all friendly, tidy and efficient. We had a few curveballs along with way, with plans having to be adjusted according to supply chain issues, the nothing fazed the team.
My husband can sometimes be *picky* but when I asked him how he would describe Summit Construction he said:
- Skilled tradesmen - Hard working - Flexible - Reliable
He would often email Mike to confirm certain aspects of the build, or query timeframes. Mike would always reply promptly-even at weekends or when he was on leave! Furthermore, invoices were sent out at regular intervals and Claire (the office whiz) would ensure that all costs were clearly itemised, so my husband could accurately track all expenditure.
We would wholeheartedly recommend Summit Construction and look forward to using them again.

Mike was always in constant communication around the work being done and really helpful with all and any input that was required. We moved out for the work to be completed and were able to move back in well before we expected thanks to the quick work from the guys at Summit!

Mike and his team at Summit Construction absolutely nailed the installation of our wall & windows. We had so many challenges to navigate and they were able to come up with a plan to solve all of them! Could not recommend these guys more! We already have our next project in mind for them!

Doing a major renovation for our family home was a daunting task and we were luckily recommended Mike Dear. We had met a few builders and were given quotes for our project and they varied considerably. Being a busy time of year in the industry we didn’t feel any of them really cared about our project and we were just another ‘job’. Mike however was not only competitive but he was genuine and upfront about what it all included and what he could do for our plan to come to life. He took time to answer our questions and queries and gave excellent professional opinions and communicated very well during the entire build. Mike was very organised and minimised any delays in supply and contract work. The entire team did an excellent job and we would highly recommend them, for their
- excellent quality of work -organisational skill with logistics of supply -transparency and communication - approachability and adaptability with an ever changing large project.

Highly recommend Summit Construction!
We did a full kitchen renovation and couldn't be happier with the final result. They transformed our dated kitchen and tiny office into a luxe kitchen and butlers pantry/laundry and the result couldn't be better.
Mike came round to check out the space and whilst there, we bounced ideas around and he gave us insights from a building perspective on the different options we were exploring.
A previous owner had added on a garage, but left the kitchen window looking into the garage. Mike gave us ideas on how we could change the space and we ended up with gorgeous custom shelving to add some plant life to the kitchen.
This was the third time we'd worked with Summit Construction and every time, Mike and his entire team were friendly and professional. Would use them again in a heartbeat!

From the moment we met Mike, we knew that he and his team were the ones for the job. Professional, positive and friendly, the whole Summit Construction team made our project as easy and stress-free as possible.
Having been a while since we'd undertaken such a project, Mike and the team thought of every detail and picked up on a number that we hadn't even thought of.
Overall, we couldn't be happier with the experience and the end result is even better than we'd hoped.

My partner and I used Summit Construction to help us move into our newly purchased home. It was originally in a sorry state and we needed the work done before we could move in. Mike understood our urgency, he inspected and quoted the job within hours of being in contact. We needed the bathroom completely stripped and redone, some walls taken down, plastering, full interior paint and all flooring (Carpet and vinyl planks). He has been incredibly proactive from day one, getting started quickly and having all aspects of the job well organised in advance. Communication was second to none as he was always quick to answer any questions and frequently providing updates on what was happening. The job was completed to a very high standard and well within budget. We thoroughly enjoyed working with Mike and are both very very happy with the outcome. We certainly recommend Mike and his team to anyone else.

Would 100% recommend Summit Construction if you want a job that is ‘done once, and done right’. My experience with Summit Construction was nothing short of exceptional. Mike and his team delivered on everything they said they would, on time and within the given budget. I felt Mike’s attention to detail and care was reflected by not only his staff, but also his preferred sub-contractors who also worked on my renovation. Couldn’t be happier with the result.

Mike and his team renovated our bathroom, we are stoked with the results and it has really made a difference to improving our house. He was a great communicator and gave us lots of advice when making decisions which was super helpful. I would highly recommend them.

We are so pleased that Ross from aluminium replacements recommended Summit Construction to help us with our renovation and wow what a fantastic company to work with. It began with a visit from Mike, who met us at our home and he listened to what we wanted, came up with a plan and the price was right and the reno began.
Steve and Matt were our builders and they have been wonderful to work with, such hard working lads, so polite and friendly and their carpentry work was superb. Our 1920s house threw a few curve balls at them but they were professionally dealt with and we are very pleased with the finished result.
Mike was easy to deal with throughout the whole process and we would highly recommend summit construction.
